we have a eagle 500 by dal lil industries with anilam 1400 controls here at our area high school career center. great machine, but coming back after summer break the knee will only move from the bootom of travel about 1 inch. it apears that the taper gibb on left side is not move up and putting knee and column in a bind, cannot figure out how to remove gibb. need this machine for training quickly. can anyone help? thanks so much! hand crank or servo will not raise the knee.

Do you mean the gibb is not moving with the knee?
a couple of methods are usually used to ajust a gibb, look on the end of the gib for a allen screw and locknut, if you have this method, you need to unlock the nut and undwind the allenscrew through the centre, tap the gibb in the direction away from the screw.
Other methods are usually obvious by locked screw in the knee same side as the gibb.
If you can determine the narrow end of the gibb by looking at both ends, it helps in which direction to remove it.

thanks al, but my knee is all the way down any gibb must come up. and yes it is not moving with the knee this is my first time on this cnczone and it seems to be great.thanks so much for your help

yes the gibb is not going up with knee. the gibb must come up and my knee is all the down and cannot get to it to knock it out.

not sure why i am labeled a chip sweeper, maybe cause i am new to this site, but i spent four hard years as an apprentice bat in the 80's now i teach apprentices's and i let them sweep chips.:) :)

Yeah, tell the system admin to permit access to the PM forums. There's nothing x rated going on over there and lots of good advice for machinists, and wannabee machinists, and yes, Chip sweepers :D
