Hey,
After lurking here for many months and garnishing all the free wisdom, I've decided to execute a Joe2006 here in Oceanside, CA.

I have build a RockCliff (18" x 18") using Plywood and it appears to run great.
- Lots of lessons learned.

I've learned that HobbyCNC is the way to go, after using another 'built-it-yourself' vendor...

I've also learned that while most folks use the first build to design/build the second... you really can't go wrong with the Joe2006 design. It appears to be robust and maintainable over time.

I'm looking for a little help. While I can see doing the smaller pieces on my existing machine... I am a little puzzled as to how to do the larger pieces (especially the gantry sides and the long runners for the base)... I may have figured out how to do these pieces in two or more operations, by screwing down a 'filler' piece of wood on my table, which positions the un/partially cut wood for the next cut... but accuracy and repeatability are probably compromised.

... Is there anyone who lives in the San Diego area who would be willing to help me out with the cutting of the larger pieces?

Just sending an update of my progress

Sorry for the blurry pics... my cell phone and I are arguing over currect settings.

Gantry is complete.

1 each of the XY box pieces has been cut and the rest will be handcut with a trim flush router bit...
