Anybody broke the code? Please Help... H.O 07-29-2007, 03:11 AM Hi, There is a tutorial that I wrote available on Mach3's download site. It explains how to set a up a basic 3 axis mill. Get it Here (http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/Mach3%20Setup%20Tutorial.pdf) There's also extensive video tutorials available at Here (http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/artsoft/videos.htm) /H.O MIAMIVICE 07-29-2007, 08:58 AM Thanks HO, I also found the MACH 3 files for Sherline... http://www.tabletopmachineshop.com/files/index.php?shop=1&cat=1 I will start there and use your instructions to fine tune. THanks Fixittt 08-06-2007, 07:22 AM I think for the sherline, it has 20 tpi screws like my maxnc. 32,000 (in microstepping) start around 25 velicity and 1.5 acell. Hen tuning the motors I have found that if you set the accell rates very low. 0.8 ect and jog the axis back and forth its really easy to see if your going to stall the motor. For the most part if you can set you speed (say around 30 to 35 IPM) and successfully jog with the accell very very low then it should be a fine speed. Also a note. Things change a bit when all axis are running. So write you a test g-code that will run all 4 axis at once. Make the code long with lots of movements ect. When you find the higest speed the machine can run and be stable (Extensive testing required) back the speeds down about 20 % and save settings. |
