There is many made by one manuf and rebranded under different labels.

The only thing I don't like about the treadmill version is the command pot setting is ignored on start up, IOW if you had a reversing feature, you have to turn the pot right down and back to where you were, or if stopping and starting constantly, it can be a pain, trust me if you can get the KB or Baldor new on ebay you are getting a better drive, especially if you look for the 4 quadrant version, you get rapid reverse and braking.
There is a mod BTW for fixing the anti quick-start feature on the T.M. version.

I don't have reversing but want it and would like to be able to start up without having to go back to slowest setting. One real setback for me is electronics, I don't know much at all about what is required to transplant an alternitive controller let alone how to go about wiring it. Might say, drag out the crayola's and draw me a picture. If one of the above mentioned controllers would fill the bill better than the other I would still need instructions for installation. Thanks for your time.

If you look on the Surplus Site link that shows the TM controller it co-incidentally also shows the one I linked to on ebay, the one shown has everything in it, speed reverse etc. just hook up 120 or 240 and your motor.
I recently got a KB 4 quadrant off ebay for just over $30.00.
BTW most of the sites, KB etc have manuals that show the hook up etc.
The other advantage with the higher end ones is they have current settings to suit your motor and some degree of tuning, the one I got has Tach option input which is a nice feature if you need very precise speed control.
