Hello all,
I've recently purchased a Shizuoka ST-N with a Bandit Control and Quickdraw. I'm in the process of cleaning the entire machine and am making new control panels for it. Problem I have is I have no idea what all of the buttons/switches do. Does anyone have a picture or know what all of them are for? I'm attaching a couple of photo's to show what I'm talking about. Any help at all would be really appreciated!
Thanks,
David
Sorry for the bad photos but I only have a camera phone right now.

I can take a photo of the front panel for you tomorrow.
Do you have all the circuit boards that belong inside the toolchanger? It looks empty inside and that is pretty ambitious to just pull all that stuff out, unless you made a good road map first :)
What did you pay for that, if you don't mind me asking.

Note,
Your toolchanger has two extra white pushbuttons on the front. I will hazard a guess, that those would have been for an rpm changer motor, which would have been used to automatically change the setting of the variable speed sheave. I never had an rpm changer, but when I converted from Bandit to Shadow, I went with VFD drives.

Hey Dung Flinger,
Thanks for the photo! To answer your questions... I have all of the parts for it in a box and a schematic so I think I'll be able to figure it all out. I know that the machine worked prior to being disassembled and have some electronics experience so I don't think it'll be a problem getting it going again. It is however my first mill and have read many of the horror stories in regards to the Bandit so I'm hoping to not run into too many problems.
I paid $3000 usd for it. I don't know if that's good or bad but it seemed like an okay deal to me. The machine is quite dirty but is in very good working order as far as the mechanics go.
I think you're right about the RPM changer. In the pic of the whole machine you can see the RPM motor sitting on the bed of the mill and the wiring goes into the tool changer.
Thanks again for the photo. I'll be sure to share some pictures as work progresses.
Cheers,
David

that brings back memories.
i do know that the drawbar motor can be replaced with an electric impact wrench with the handle cut off. black and decker i think.
