I pulled the way covers off my VFO and noticed there is grease nipples there for the x axis . How often do they need grease and what kind of grease?
Is there grease nipples on the y axis also?

Thanks

does the machine have a lube oil system on it?if the grease fittings are under the way covers i doubt they are being used,my machine doesnt have the oil lude system and needs to be greased once a week or twice if you run it alot, but my fittings are all easy to acess without removing any covers, standard lithium grease is what i use,i hope you havnt run it for too long without lube, check your manual, good luck

Can you also see lube lines? You have a '95 machine, maybe the parts they used had grease nipples fitted as standard and the lube line connection is in a different place on the linear bearings.

The ways are pressure lubed. I didnt see any thing about greasing in the manual.
Guess that answers my question :)

Thanks

My manual they gave me with the machine is for 97. I better pull the covers off again and double check both are pressure lubed.

Thanks

I think if the machine has a lube tank at the back with a pump you can safely conclude all the axes and ball screws are being lubed.
