I am working on a Haas VF1 software version 9.21a.
Date of Manufacture 12-96
I am not the only one running the machine.
After running a short run of parts that did not use the 4th axis I set up to run some with it.
It is a hrt210.
When I started the program I got a "336 A Axis Disabled"
I hit reset then went to the settings graph and item 30 was set to "Off"
I used the cursor keys to select the hrt210 then pressed enter.
I now get a beep and a note saying "Servo is On ! "

I must admit that I have no clue what was done and the other person running the machine is no longer with the company.

I am thinking there is some sequence of steps that I am missing.
I did not install the 4 axis so I don't know what process to follow.

My skill level is "button monkey"

Help please?

The message Servo Is On meant just that; you were trying to changing something with power applied to the servos. Hit Estop and everything should be fine.

Regarding installing the HRT210 make sure the machine power is OFF. You can smoke things plugging or unplugging the 4th axis with power on...or at least that is what I have been told and I do not plane on testing it.

Yeah just make sure the e-stop pressed and you should be fine. It's also a good idea to restart the machine after selecting your A-axis. Sometimes your settings/parameters don;t take effect till powered off/on.
