View Full Version : Haas rapid move ? binzer 06-28-2007, 10:09 AM Ok so one haas the rapid moves follow just like gibbs cam shows, the other haas machine doesnt? Its hard to judge where to put the clamps. axis 06-28-2007, 02:37 PM slow you rapids on the first pass HuFlungDung 06-28-2007, 07:11 PM Solution: don't rapid so close to your surface that you cannot clear the clamps :) In rapid traverse, both X and Y move at full speed simultaneously (looks like a 45 degree angle), until either of them reaches its endpoint, then the remaining axis continues to move alone. So it will look like a combination of 45 degree moves, finished with moves parallel to one axis. A more modern cnc may have enough capability to actually perform an interpolated move at rapid speed, I know I had the option to pick either mode on a Mitsubishi cnc. You will have to visualize how this works, because the CAM software most likely calculates an interpolated path (bee-line) between two points. Run the graphic check on the Haas to double check, I think it shows the actual rapid path. |
