Do you make use of the HAAS RS232 SEND ALL capability?
If so, then how do you make use of the resulting file or files?

I have never tried it. I have just picked and sent one at a time. Its sort of like "delete all?" I don't like "all" of any thing:)
I was at a HFO open house once, while one of the demo mills was in between parts...one of the sales guys was trying to show me a editing trick. He got to going too fast and hit "delete all?" (nuts)
It was a 3 axis part that was pretty involved and they didn't have a copy....
We use the WRITE ALL to floppy (or whatever it is called) on a weekly basis, more or less. It is simply a back up, all our programs are kept in the machines so we back them up onto floppy and onto a PC hard drive just in case the machine goes down.
So far we have never needed the back up.

How much time do you spend to send 100 individual programs?
.
This is an interesting issue. I do a LOT pf prototyping. I NEVER save NC files. Never. I never edit anything at the machine. Never. It's all done at the cam system. I have spent a lot of time and effort to get my post processors working correctly. It has paid off in that I NEVER send any program back from teh machine. I save about 10 hours a week this way.

Don't know never tried it. But by the question I ASSume that you want/need to.
If that is the case I guess the question is..do you feel lucky?
I would ASSume that it would be harmless...but in my case that would mean the machine, 232 cable, and the computer would burst into flames simultaneously:)

Could you do it like a floppy backup? LIST PROGRAM, END, highlight ALL, WRITE, type a file name and then send it? That is how we back up all the Parameters Settings etc to floppy using the F2 key.

Kool Tool:
If programs are short, and assuming 15 to 30 sec per program, then the time for 100 programs is about:
To floppy 25 to 50 minutes. Only 8.3 filenames are available.
To computer 100 ft away, about 4 miles of walking, add about 1.3 hours.
Realistically this time per program is probably too little.
A save ALL for 1 megabyte is about 1.5 minutes thru RS232 at 115.2 kbaud.
