Have someone idea how to make articulated arm simple? USMCPOP 06-29-2007, 03:58 PM Heck, yes. Use a wrecked bicycle. Discard the handlebars. Bend the forks out, or cut the forks short and weld on some square tubing for the outer arm. Cut off the frame where it meets the seat tube, and weld that onto a floor pole. Or shove the seat tube onto another tube that mounts to the floor so you can swivel that. Or combine the parts of two bicycles. Bearings and races are readily available, and relatively inexpensive. Done. metalcraft.hr 06-29-2007, 04:01 PM Heck, yes. Get hold of a scrapped bicycle. Chuck the handlebars. Bend the forks out, or cut the forks short and weld on some square tubing for the outer arm. USMCPOP 06-29-2007, 04:28 PM Door hinges or gate hinges would work very nicely as well. They could be bolted to wooden arms and you would not need to weld. Think simple. mxtras 06-29-2007, 04:30 PM Box tubing, a few bolts and nuts, a few nylon washers and a drill. Scott USMCPOP 06-29-2007, 05:43 PM Scott, Maybe you could use those parts to make that AL tubing polisher machine, LOL. Any progress? You're right, any kind of homemade hinge would do it. It's just that I always wanted to make something out of old bicycles. They deserve a better fate than the scrapyard. metalcraft.hr 06-30-2007, 03:25 AM Scott, Maybe you could use those parts to make that AL tubing polisher machine, LOL. Any progress?
