Hi guys, here's an idea I had. What would be the problem with using a pneumatic straight die grinder as a spindle. I have used them at the shop, and they seem to take a beating at high speeds and, under varying loads. I thought what if I could attach a pulley to this?

how does the pulley fit in to what you have in mind?

You'll need a big compressor, that will probably run all the time.

Sorry for the delay in responding, short term memory shot I guess, lol. What I had in mind was using the straight line version as an electric motorized spindle. I was thinking since the tool can take a heavy side to side load it could make a perfect spinde when mated to a high speed motor. Not air but electricity as power. Have any comments on this type of application?
