Guys, what is the best way to update an old drawing?

When I open an old drawing to make a change, I have to re-establish a datum. Basically, the computer is viewing that as a print.

I can click on the original datum, but I don't know how far I'm off. There must be a better way.

Thanks again,
Rob

i usually make the datum a circle someware then it is a recognisable contour
therefore you can use snap to locate it confidently

but i'm shure this is what you already do

own a few yam strokers meself (if it's the same tz250)

Are you reopening a .dra file, if so the datum shouldn't be changing. I have tested this and it hasn't moved?

After talking to you on the phone I did some testing on the temp. files and I found out that the datum stays the same in there too, as they are just .dra files also. When you change the datum are you using the blue datum toolbar button or the red one? I will help you figure this out.
