Ok, I created wireframe geometry and surfaced that, converted to solid and i'm trying to boolean ad a cylinder at an angle, the problem is that is says that it can't add to a sheet? now this sheet is a suface that is flat that i created a ruled surface on and tuned into a solid, so why won't it let me add it????? If you create a solid from a single surface, you will have a "2d" solid. There's no depth to it, so there's nothing to add/subtract to.

Try extruding the outline of the geometry you created in the direction you need, then when you've got 'depth' to your solid, you can do the boolean stuff.

You may need to create a construction plane to extrude the 3d surface/shape to.
