Dave Stepper Monkey 05-08-2007, 03:35 PM Vertical Mills are irrelevant. Thay have been assimilated. Give in to the dark side. Discuss the X3. Resistance is futile. davo727 05-08-2007, 03:43 PM Ha, That was cool! Yeah! and 7 of 9 is da bomb! BobWarfield 05-08-2007, 08:14 PM Bummer! I guess you have to own either an Industrial Hobbies mill or a Sieg. That's a pity, things were working fine before. BW fuss 05-09-2007, 06:23 PM . JRouche 05-09-2007, 09:07 PM Bummer! Welcome back to the "Newbies asking the same three questions about Chinese Mills" forum. CNCadmin 05-10-2007, 08:30 AM OK, I hope this does it, now we have a Knee mill forum. davo727 05-10-2007, 10:15 AM Hi Paul G, Thanks for taking care of cnczone. I love this site and have learned a lot and learn more every day I read it . So I hope you wont think im trying to be a complaining pain in the butt :) I think there a few issues that could use discussion and attention. My pet issue is the RF45 clone mill category. Has there been a valid logical reason given for opposing a combined (IH -R45 forum) ? The R45 are way too big for benchtop forum, is not a knee mill, they are a bed mill actually. They are 99% identical to the Industrial Hobbies mills. The best place for them is a combined (IH and RF45 clone forum) Reasons: New mill owners and newbies will see the forum title and go there instead of wasting time in the wrong forums. Common info on parts choices and sizes of things like ballscrews, steppers, servos and everything. Also modification and upgrade info will help advance many peoples progress. Is the owner of Industrial Hobbies against it due to percieved competition? I would think he would get a lot of parts sales to RF45 people converting their mills. The IH CNC conversion kits will probably fit with small or no changes. Next item the minimill people should have a discussion and maybe a poll and try to figure out how to organize their stuff. Well Thanks for your attention, Dave |
