*Not sure if this is the right forum but this maching touts itself as an engraver*
The head of operations where I work wanted me to research this machine. It's an engraver\router that will cut sheet metal (not thick stuff of course). So now I'm confused. I thought it was a no-no to route metals. The reason a machine like this is of interest to us is to cut steel and aluminum sheets (.125" thick max). That way we reduce the amount of precut material in inventory.

Specifically, 2424 or 2448
Questions:
1) What separates this or machines like it from CNC routers\mills?
2) What other machines are out there that are like this one (engraver or CNC router)?
Thanks,
Frank
