Hi mastercam gurus

im considering building a "hot whire foam cutter" it will ideally have a rotary table. contruction of such a device :

is fairly easy for me, as I have a "full" metal shop in my loft.

what i want to know is how to controll it with standard CAM software. I know RC modelers use secial software to cut wings, but i want to make cores and paterns for small casting projects. i like how precise these devices can be, and inexpensive..

Anyone know the answer?

Mastercam will prolly work nicely for you. It has a wire module that I haven't used, but have heard it's pretty good. I'm not sure about using a rotary with it, but I would imagine you could fairly easily modify a post and use the mill module to achieve the rotary things you want to do.

Your best bet would be to contact the dealer in your area and tell them what you plan to do. You can go to the Mastercam web site and find a dealer in the Chicago area.
