Want to start locating parts for my RF-31 conversion, that I may start next year.
Been reading most posts!
Getting really confused on what to use for cnc conversion?
Servo or Stepper?????????????????
Currently leaning torwards Stepper with 8-wires. Am I leaning the wrong way????

Most of the guys here go with steppers and are pretty much satisfied with their results. As far as drivers, gecko seems to be a favorite as you have probely read. The accuracy will come from the ballscrew/ballnut and bearing combination and of cource all of that is driven by your projects.

There have been a couple of good posts on cncing the RF31 to follow as example and you will pick up some good insights on how and why some thing were done a certain way.

Welcome aboard,

Ron

Thanks for the reply! I've read the posts on the RF31 & RF25.

I've also PM'd a couple of the members about specific questions and got quick response.

Everyone's been great!

Thanks again,
