It worked fine for me and does not seem to be too strong or harsh on the metal or the paint. I just sprayed an adequate amount where needed and wiped off with rags. I lubed all the cleaned iron with a Tellus 32 oil after cleaning. Be careful not to damage the Y axis home switch when removing the carriage. I damaged mine and I'm still waiting for the replacement. -Wes ata 04-16-2007, 12:38 AM I used auto's petrol when I cleaned my X3. :nono: MichaelHenry 04-16-2007, 12:15 PM Mineral spirits or kerosene in a spray bottle and paper towels worked fine for me on a Tormach. Mike mxtras 04-16-2007, 01:26 PM I would NOT recommend Simple Green! That stuff is a bit more aggressive and corrosive than necessary. Any amount accidentally left behind will etch metal and it typically should be removed with water - not a good thing for a machine of any kind. I would recommend kerosene or mineral spirits - as MichaelHenry suggested. Mineral Spirits is a very good degreaser and is relatively mild to handle. Use gloves and glasses.
