View Full Version : Help, new SX3
Hi,
maybe somebody can help me to get the correct connection (see pic). The cables come from stepmotor. I find many cables are not tight screwed. I don't have no manual book from sx3.
Thanks.

not from 4th axis but from y-axis. could you show me please the correct connection. e.g red to d, etc... thanks.
i will reply you by email.
thank you

no connection...? (see fotos, red ellipse) :violin:
Flatline's Up! 04-01-2007, 06:19 PM I believe that connector is under the panel at the top/rear of the column. It has 4 phillips screws to remove (on mine anyway). You have to feed that long wire set up under the column rear panel and connect it under the vented 4 screw panel you removed.
(woohooo I helped someone... and mine still doesn't go lol)
InspirationTool 04-01-2007, 07:03 PM Yes, be careful of loose wires... I found several in my X2 enclosure.

Syil_Australia 04-02-2007, 05:57 AM not from 4th axis but from y-axis. could you show me please the correct connection. e.g red to d, etc... thanks.
Ata.
The X and Y axis are wired the same on the Drivers. Wire the (A driver in your photo) the same as for the B (X axis driver) The Z axis driver is wired differently and looks correct. The A Axis (rotary) is wired the same as the X & Y.
Hope this helps
Frans
InspirationTool 04-02-2007, 06:14 AM Frans, for those of us on the sidelines... is there a reason the Z axis is wired differently? Even if it has different allowed amperage, it is still a 4 wire stepper, right?
Thanks!
-Jeff
yeah, of course, natuerlich...Thanks Frans...
could somebody help me. See the yellow ellipses (the left is now ok) bellow, what for are the connectors...
Thanks.
Flatline's Up! 04-02-2007, 07:25 AM I put that in my post above.
Remove the cover at the top of the machine that has the yellow lightning bolt sticker on it, and you'll see the other end of that plug there...
Good luck
I believe The on in your lower right of the pic goes to the board on the E-Stop plug (although it's hard to tell from your pic)
OK, Flatline's Up!
I will open the cover tomorrow to find the other end of this plug and make foto from it. Thanks.
A is Parallel Interface PCB.
B is Stepper Driver.
Anyone know, what is C and what is D? Where is Spindle Control Board, coolant control Board?
I put that in my post above.
Remove the cover at the top of the machine that has the yellow lightning bolt sticker on it, and you'll see the other end of that plug there...
Cover is opened. I see no other end of plug there...
dafowfidy 04-03-2007, 09:26 AM It is there, its just hanging down. Look at the green wire with the white stripe, the plug is at the end along with I believe two reds spliced together and two solid greens.
I recently had the same problem with finding wires that have come unattached. I think this is the reason the Y ball screw came of the bearing and the balls fell out.Where was QC the day my machine was built? Now my table limits are out of whack by 1-1/2 or so how do I fix this problem?
InspirationTool 04-03-2007, 01:13 PM Here's how I set up my soft limits.
Get your switches working so that a "Reference All" works.
Then set those locations to machine coordinates 0,0,0. Then jog around (carefully, with soft limits off) and take note of the extents of travel. Put those in to the soft limit screen. You should read that section of the Mach 3 manual.

:) I get answer from SyilChina...:)
At first ,you shuould open two black boards in the back of mill, when you open the small board in the back ,you will find a white connecter, this is connect with the connecter1.
about connecter2 and connect3,I will give you a picture, the number of ports is homologous.
connect 3 is connect to faucet of E-stop,connect 2 is connect to faucet of spindle control.
card-c is a spindle control board,card-d is a G-code control board ,it can make you control the spindle by computer.
Remove the cover at the top of the machine that has the yellow lightning bolt sticker on it, and you'll see the other end of that plug there...
ok, Flatline's Up! thanks...:)
Hi everybodys,
I downloaded a Mach3 Ver 2.00's profile for the X3 CNC Mill from SyilAmerica. Shall i change the profile if i use only mm (metric)? And where must be change in the profile? Thanks. :)
:) Test SX3 and Mach3 (demo):
- the Emergency's LED is light by Diagnostics-Page under 'Input Signal Current State'. LED is off if the e-stop is pulled. If e-stop is pulled i can not start the spindle.
- the x,y,z axis was on moving if i started 'roadrunner'. Running the 'roadrunner' was not continued (stopped in half way). I think cause demo version.
- the yellow led M1/M2-Home is on if the limit switch pressed. The position of z-axis's Limit switch is not found.
- Jog is ok (all x,y,z,a-axis)
- I see that the limit switch is not in function if in Jog Mode.
- I don't know how to get/setup home position.

here is my 1st pic, sx3 as plotter with mach3 (demo)...
