Hi all ,
first time posting on here for me , a question -
any body have experience with hurco lathes ? , we need conversational programming & have placed an order for a hurco tm10 lathe , presently we run with xyz vm 5000 & vm 425 lathes c/w prototrack controllers but seriously need to upgrade our output .my opinion of fanuc is that it is a system which soon only the diehards will stay with - any ideas ( clean ones please ! )

thanks

I looked at the specs for the Hurco lathes when they introduced them and felt the machine weight to capacity ratio was not good. But my main problem is with Hurco controls,if you have a problem and need control parts you are paying Hurco prices,if you have a Fanuc spares are plentiful and available from a multitude of suppliers.Keep in mind also that lathes are now available with a Heidenhain conversational controller.
Mark.

Hi mark ,
thanks for that ,we did consider the oem factor , it's one we have had to put up with on our other machines , being in west wales we get clobbered with service costs anyway ( travelling etc ) so we decided to stick with hurco due to the fact that they manufacture all parts themselves , as compared with others "bolting on " bits .we visited another shop proir to purchase who has been dealing with hurco for 10 yrs or so & his feed back was good apart from them being a bit salty on prices & having to haggle them down ..
