This may sound dumb to you but try replacing the fuses for your spindle amplifier. I had a similar problem on a First MCV-2000 even though I had tested all the fuses 2X and had an electrition come in and he tested them, they seemed fine. Replaced the right fuse and the problem was solved. Even tested the fuse after taking it out of the machine and it showed continuity. Go figure. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Good luck.

Did you also swap out the fuses in the relays. The 2amp 600v ones??

I'm not sure I will have to check those.
Thanks

They should be located inside the door where your main power on/off switch is. If you look at your wiring diagrams try to find K67 I believe. This should also be labeled on the fuse holder in the machine.

on page 387 of the 18i maintenance manual (b-63005) shows haw to read the parameters in the control to narrow down possible problems, ie. overvoltage,overload alarm, regen,....
first check for the proper voltage to the spindle amp. usualy says on the front by the power buss that connects p/s to spind amp, to axis amps ect...
if good, check with a megaohmmeter each leg to ground of the motor(with it disconnected) and each leg to each other.
let me know

Try this parameter change.

Thanks alot guy's for the imput I guess I should have posted the control type,I have an older Fanuc OM ,my alrm in the book for a 409 alm is spindle overheat ,and on the amplifier it's alrm -01 The books reads spindle motor overheat.So what I did 1st I sent out the spindle Drive (Amplifier) when that checked ok 2nd I sent the Spindle motor out to be tested because there is a thermo in the motor but that also checked out ok.I then worked with the Tech over the phone and he thought everything then pointed to the Drive again So for a 3rd time I sent it back under warra
nty,Again nothing wrong with it...So at this point very frustrated I'm looking for a good Tech to bring in I have wasted to much time.
Across the 3 legs checking it with a voltage meter I have 208-218.
Thanks.....
