Anyone have it? fastolds 03-24-2007, 10:36 AM I have a part to engrave and need the Lucida Calligraphy font which I don't have in any of my software. Anyone? HayTay 03-24-2007, 11:21 AM fastolds, The Lucida Calligraphy font was included in a lot of Microsoft's offerings in the last decade. This list includes titles such as Access 97 SR2, Greetings 99, Home Publishing 99, Office 2000 Premium, Office 97 Small Business Edition SR2, Office 97 SR1a, Office Professional Edition 2003, PhotoDraw 2000, Picture It! 2000, Picture It! 2002, Picture It! 98, Publisher 2000, Publisher 97, Publisher 98, and TrueType Font Pack. If you have one of these applications you should have what you're looking for. Do a search for lcallig.ttf. HTH, fastolds 03-24-2007, 02:31 PM I need a DXF file or something I can import. jogilliam 03-24-2007, 03:08 PM I had it on my computer fastolds 03-25-2007, 07:53 AM Thanks for the list. I need to find it in a DXF file so I can directly import it in my cad. Switcher 03-25-2007, 08:48 AM Here you go, download this software, & you can convert all your TTF fonts to DXF. http://home.carolina.rr.com/gcodemcode/ttftodxf.htm Works for me! :) Sample Lucida Calligraphy font: ger21 03-25-2007, 09:15 AM Here you go, download this software, & you can convert all your TTF fonts to DXF. http://home.carolina.rr.com/gcodemcode/ttftodxf.htm Works for me! :) Sample Lucida Calligraphy font: Switcher, is that program free now? It used to be $100. I had a demo of it about 8 years ago, limited to 30 saves or something like that. Switcher 03-25-2007, 02:40 PM Switcher, is that program free now? It used to be $100. I had a demo of it about 8 years ago, limited to 30 saves or something like that. The program is still $100. When you start the program a registration form says (Trial) Max.30 days, or 100 times used. It looks like a very good program, could be very useful. Hint: Also here is a little hint, 2 forms pop-up when you start the program, The "Registration Form", & behind that is the actual program, the reg. form is on top but you can still see & click on the actual program, while the reg. form is still open & you click on the actual program, for every click it counts against your 100 times used, so just register or simply close out the reg. form (or don't click the form, like I did (nuts) ). . ger21 03-25-2007, 02:52 PM OutlineArt is similar, and only $30 http://www.freefirestudio.com/outline.htm Switcher 03-25-2007, 02:59 PM OutlineArt is similar, and only $30 http://www.freefirestudio.com/outline.htm Good find. :) . kiwichris 03-25-2007, 03:47 PM deskengrave from the deskam folks does the same, and is free... http://www.deskam.com/deskengrave.html Definately works for me. :-). fastolds 03-25-2007, 06:57 PM Does anyone have the Lucida calligraphy font in there software? I don't have it at all so I can't even convert it. Tried word, notepad..... See jogilliam's post #4 above. fastolds 03-25-2007, 08:03 PM I tried that one but I can only open it in a viewer. HayTay 03-25-2007, 08:51 PM I tried that one but I can only open it in a viewer. Unzip the font and copy and paste it to your "Windows\Fonts" or "Winnt\Fonts" folder. After you paste the font file into the "Windows\Fonts" folder the font should be available to all of your Windows applications. How to Install or Remove a Font in Windows (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314960) Installing TrueType (ttf) Demo Movie (http://info.template-help.com/files/Fonts/Installing_ttf_fonts.swf) fastolds 03-25-2007, 09:25 PM That worked!! I copied it into the directory then used the demo TTF to DXF. That worked out great. Thanks!! fastolds 03-25-2007, 09:40 PM This is wierd, I opened my engraving software so I could import the text and when I went through the fonts available, that one showed up now. Must be linked to the fonts on my computer some how. HayTay 03-25-2007, 09:43 PM That worked!! I copied it into the directory then used the demo TTF to DXF. That worked out great. Thanks!! WhooHoo! I'm glad to be part of the solution. Sometimes it's the little things... And thanks to all those who posted links to the TTF to DXF conversion apps. The OutlineArt converter was one I hadn't seen before. You should be able to use the Lucida Calligraphy font in almost all of your applications now. Check it and see. ;) |
