Anyone have any experience with the older Anilam CNC controls? I'm talking late 80's vintage('88) on a knee mill retrofit. How are they as far as programming, ease of use, quirks, problems etc.

Hi Have a Bridgeport-Sized (SuperMax) Milling machine with Anilam Crusader retrofit (circa 1986 - but with hardware and software updates). It is still alive and well -and running.

It is fine to program manually for small jobs- and has many software features that were way ahead of its time.
For big jobs - I lay them out in BobCAD and send the file to the Anilam for machining.
When the 386 based controller goes - I will replace it with a new Power Supply and Gecko based controller - as Mike Aber on this sig did.

Good luck,

Joe

I can fix the crusader II controls. I will give telephone help free.
The cotrol was the market leader in early 1980 for bridgeport retrofits.

Two problems that are hard to fix 1 the power supply for control dies and 2 the keyboard after 20 years dies. I have designed replacements for both. You can get used on ebay or I will sell you new.

John,

I have a Anialm Crusader II I am having a problem with. Once in a while I get an error 18 and the program shuts down. I happens at different points in the program and with various programs. Any ideas what it could be.

Thank you,
