I'm going to Beijing in April and I decided to by myself a machine or two when I'm there, specially a lathe.

So, anyone been there for shopping? I know the topic has been discussed earlier, but it was a long time ago. Any of you Chinese guys here at the zone that are located in Beijing?

Wǒ yào qù zhōngguó kànyikan. :)

Regards,
Sven

I'm surprised, 80 reads and not a single answer.
I know there are members here that have been buying machines in China, where are you?..

Sven

All i can say about that is look inside for loose cast iron particulates, my mill had it in the gearbox and inside the sindle housing, the bearings will eat cast iron some but will not like it much !

Try contacting SIEG before you go there and see if they have a distributor or dealer in Beijing? They are quick to response. Its better to go with trusted company like SIEG. I am chinese but not from Beijing. But its prudent to be extra careful when shopping there, especially if you don't speak chinese. Do you?

But I would say its better to go there and get it then via online. Lots of scammer out there. I would guess its ok to just go to any machine shop in Beijing and check them out. Make sure you know where they are?
