we are running an alpha 1550 xs with a duplimatic 8 place rotory tool changer.
lately the tool changer has been "missing" its tool changes
it will either run with the incorrect tool(read "crash") or error out with "incorrect tool found"
I believe the controller is a fanuc 21i
any help would be muchly appreciated

Hi bhkelly !
The shop that i work for has 3 cnc lathes w/duplomatic turrets!
what i have experienced when alarm "incorrect tool found" happens have been Damaged encoder .
I suggest you removed the cover on the turret first to make sure is dry
i mean free of coolant.Do you have a supplier for your turret parts?

The supplier for any parts would be the 600 group ( as it is a Harrison machine)in Toronto which about 3 days freight away. Have any good suppliers.
The machine was running dry in 660 bronze however we do use coolant quite often
I assume the cover you are speaking of is an aluminum housing opposite the tool holders??

Yes thats the cover
our supplier for Duplomatic parts is Macoser they are the authorized
Duplomatic turrets distribuitor and service center in the U.S
