Hi everyone,

I have a home cnc, and it uses linear bearings, i wanna know whats the best kinda oil to lubricate the shafts that the bearings slide on. If is the some kind of ideal oil viscosity for that (how much)... or if anyone knows a good product for that (wich one)...

Im using some random lubricating and stain protectin oil, its really low viscosity, just a little more dense then thoose that comes in spray cans. It kinda looks like maple syrup with water... I think its a sewing machine oil...

thx

A common grease for the carriage on machine tool ball fitted linear bearings was Shell Alvania #2.

Perhaps generic way oil will suffice.

Define what you mean by "best".

I mean... a good oil that will keep stains away, and still let my bearings as fast as they can go.... Cuz the stepping motors i use aren't too strong and i want to keep resistance and friction as low as possible.

thx
