I just heard that Fadal or MAG has seperated their parts from the main company. Supposedly they have formed three (3) seperate parts warehouses throughout the US. The person I talked to tried to order a counterbalance sprocket and was quoted over three (3) weeks for the part to ship.

If this is the case, I am going to start buing up all the spare parts I can.

Does anyone have any info on this.

Itmquik,
This is not exactly true. They are still planning on keeping the parts warehouse in Chattsworth, CA and possibly adding Fadal parts to the Mag warehouse currently where it is in the midwest. Between what Fadal has on the shelf and FadalCNC.com's inventory, nearly anthing can be shipped same day. FadalCNC.com has about 20 of the sprockets you speak of in stock currently and you should become familiar with the options you have around the world and on the internet for Fadal parts. Fortunatelly for Fadal owners, there is no other machine in the world better supported both by the factory and third party parts companies which keeps the prices down and supply up. That includes technical support and parts availability. Try this link and come back and tell me no sprockets are available: http://shop.fadalcnc.com. PN# PUL-0034 (Sprocket only) or HDW-0207-KIT (Chains & Sprockets). You will be pleasently suprised.

This is just what I heard from our newest Fadal repair tech. I don't know why they would say something that was not true. However this did not directly happen with me so anything is possible.

My main concern is that I own numerous Fadals and have heard grumblings of ill fate for Fadal owners since MAG took over.

Fadal machines WERE great machines. Ever since the original company was sold the quality and reliability of the machines I purchased seemed to be sub par.

Jeff,

I am quite certain that Magcorp has the best of intentions, however they are suffering from "Big Company, slow to get there" syndrom. I know the new Maintenance Technologies manager, Pat Grantz personally and he is working his tail off to provide 90+ days of on-the-shelf parts support from the factory. But keep in mind that there are other sources for your parts, FadalCNC.com has the best stocking levels short of the factory in the world, and usually carries items that factory does not stock. And others exist for this and that. Don't always believe what you hear, check it out first.

Best regards,
