I will be using Cadem's Netlite to download/upload programs to the Fadal 4020 with 88HS controller. I am using this program now to transfer programs on a Yam lathe with Fanuc OT controller. What at the pin connections for the RS-232 post on the VMC and for the Serial connector at the computer? What are the parameters for Parity, Stop bits, ETC?
This program is free on the internet. What else are you guys using that may be better and is low cost?
Thanks,
Scott

The protocol is 7 data bits, even parity, and 1 stop bit. ASCII data transfer.
Required pin out is for 25 pin at machine #1 shield; #2 transmit; #3 receive; and #7 singal ground. Same at the PC for a 25 pin "D" connector except do NOT connect shield at PC end. Use a null modem to swap 2 and 3 or wire the cable null.
For a 9 pin at the PC #5 goes to #7 of the 25 pin.
Remember transmit must always connect to receive.

Do you not have some jumper wires on some pins at each end?
Thanks,
Scott

On the 25 pin connector setup You can jump 4,5,6,8,& 20 if you want to but its not mandatory. If your using 9pin to 25 pin set up then follow this:
9 PIN -------- 25 PIN
1-----------------8
2-----------------2
3-----------------3
4-----------------20
5-----------------7
6-----------------6
7-----------------4
8-----------------5
9-----------------22
Remember that transmit must connect to recieve.

DLoG SFDM has great DNC software. Viewers, Editors, and Document control. Not the cheapest but reliable and professional.
