Does anyone know if thier is a setting that allows you to re-align the C axis for every 90 degrees of rotation.

Reason I am asking we have a 5 axis machine that is running a Centroid controller and our head is not perfectly aligned with the c axis.

In past controllers such as Siemans thier was what I believe was called C axis Wind Up. Where you can adjust the C axis for every 90 degrees so it doesn't through off your x or y.

Any suggestions or help on this matter will be great.

Thanks
Chris

Is it 5-axis index or full 5-axis?

Anyway, with 5-axis index easier to fix with a ball gage, but full fifth the only I can thinking of is indicate the table straight.

I'm not clear on what you mean by head is not perfectly aligned with the c axis.

also is you "c" axis laying on the table rotating around your "z" axis

It is a full 5 axis machine.

The C axis wraps around the Z. As the C turns 90 degrees it throws off the X and Y by .015 then if I go to 180 degree it is off .023.

I used to run a Seimans 5 axis before this centroid and thier was a C axis windup setup that allowed you to teach the controller if the head alignment was off you can go in and enter how much your x and y like you would with cutter compensation.

definetly sounds like a "c" axis mapping problem

I'm not familiar with your control so i can't tell you if it's map able or not

you can call the control manufacturer and they should be able to help you

does the error add up in both directions

or one way adds up and the other subtracts

if both directions add up you may need to adjust your gains(first check for backlash in the "c" axis)
