Hi there!. I'm a newbie and would like to know if anybody would like to share his knowledge over MSN Messenger. I need to know the basics about CNC hotwire cutters because I'm about to buy one to start out a lettering business. Does anybody wanna help me?

Hey Boggy Planet,
I think the Ideas behind the site is .. more of a self help site.. then if you get stumped .. you can ask questions..
Though .. when I built my first 3 axes machine.. I just posted the project as it came together.. I think I spent a good week looking at what other had done.. then move forward with my own design.. I posted as it came together.. who know maybe someone was able to follow and build there own..or learn from it..
So far..
I've built two 3 axis machines,
one - with y axis 11" - X axis 38" - Z axis 4"
second - with with y axis 20" - X axis 7.5' - Z axis 4"
the foam cutter I ended up buying .. as you plan to do..not I think it realy was not worth it I could have built something better quality for the price, I payed...but I'm thinking for letters.. the size that you may want to cut.. and unless you plan to cut one letter at a time.. then its going to be a big machine.. usually equals.. big $$$..
but.. I think in the end there's a little black magic.. going on with the heat, tension, types of wires..ect.. but I'm thinking for letters'.. maybe its not such a big deal.. if your not looking for precision..
I'm a model builder so its more critical.. but I guess I'm thinking.. that if your letters are 1 foot in size.. then no one will notice.. that they are all 1/8 shorter.. or so .. just my thinking..
well just my 2cents..
