Does anyone know what could have caused this IC to pop like this. I do not know what I did wrong, if anything to cause this. I was running my mill to check my newly installed spindle upgrade and I was running the Quill up and down at low speed (about 100 rpm) and I heard a pop and the mill stopped. I did not have my mill attached to the computer yet. Does anyone know what this IC is and where I might be able to find a replacement. It is labeled U1 on the largest circuit board on the mill.
Any help is appreciated.

Fast service like this (on a third party forum even) is an excellent example of quality service and speaks highly of the company.

Nico, please for the rest of us, let us know what happens and how quickly you get your parts.

Thanks,
Britt

So far the company has been great. They have very good follow up and they shipped the mill the day that I bought it. I am confident the will sort this out quickly. I will post how it goes. I only posted this hoping that someone would know what this IC was and I could run out to radio shack and get it. I know that was a long shot but I was hoping to be up and running this weekend.

Seig has been undergoing "too" many revisions. Looks like all issues have been addressed since V5.25. Most machines in the last month are v6.75.

Most of the issues Sieg has been having are do to poor grounding and grounding issues with the display board. Although they are still rare. It hurts my feelings when a customer has issues. I take it personally.
