hi everyone-

we've been progressively moving up the mill "food chain" from the mini-mill to the small mill to the round column mill (still looking for a dovetail version :) )and now to the full-sized mill.

we just purchased a taiwan-made clone that's been sitting around waiting for quite some time and are preparing to move it to its new location. we'll need to clean it well, but it looks like aside from the surface rust, it's in good condition.

here are some pictures of it. we'll be posting more of the move, restoration, making chips, and cnc as time progresses.

the first look at the machine (http://www.fignoggle.com/machines/bridgeport/bridgeport-series-1-j-head-clone-made-by-jenq-shing-in-taiwan.htm)

having a much larger work envelope and rigidity/mass should help :)

thanks!

It'll be interesting to see what happens when you fire it up and get a dial indicator on that table.

If it's a close BP knock off, lemee know. I've got my old BP power feed I'll let go for cheap. But you should send me some pics and measurements of the Acme screw on the right side so we know it'll match up.

This unit I have has some problems, but is probably very repairable. The motor keeps running after you hit neutral going one direction. It should shut off.

Good luck.

Best,
John

Good deal. If you are going to actually use I'll let it go for very cheap. I'd rather it go to someone in the CNC Zone community who can and will use it than end up just out on e-Bay.
