Quote"It turns out that my part is too high (Y axis) and it needs to be trimmed down.

The only way I could think of doing this is to put a rectangular box in the unneeded area and do a Boolean subtraction.

Attached is my part file with an oversized rectangular box representing exess material to be subtracted. I could not quite figure out how to hilight the box with a different color so I made it oversize for clarity.

Of course that will cut my part in two pieces. How, may I ask, do I stitch the two pieces back together?

Thanks,

This is how you will be able to fix these problems

The process used was:

1st, select the Solid you want to Keep
2nd, Control Button and select the Block that you want to subtract
3rd, Booleans Difference.
4th, Extract All Lines Acrs and edges from Solids
5th, Unstitch All Solids Surfaces
6th, Use the measuring function to findout how much you need to Translate the Top Half.
7th, Drag a Window Selection Box around your Top Half and Stitch Together
8th, do the same to the Bottom Half (make sure the top isn't selected still)
9th, Select the TOP Half and Translate Y-.75 Incrementally
10th, Select all Solids and Booleans Join

Done, Cheers!!!!!!!
