Hi all

I am newbie in mechanics so excuse me for stupid question.

I just got the X2 Sieg mill and measured its spindle deviation with ring indicator . I got about 0.02 at the mill base and i even get more at the end of chuck .
I adjusted mill chuck's draw bar properly . What could be the reason ? Is the spindle to blame ? Most of the screw on the mill are not adjusted properly - those what i have seen on the surface . Then i could imagine what is within ? Do i have to dismount whole machine and mount it again ?
Or may be ask seller to change spindle will be more better?

Yet i measured Y axis as well (ring indicator was mounted to X axis) and get 0.02 micron deviation on the 100 mm. Could it be adjusted ?

Do you think it is time to be disappointed by this product ? I so some really fascinating results posted here by other owners of X2 . Is it something wrong with mine mill?

Sorry for long post but i am just started and there a lot to learn .

most probably i found the problem - the collet for milling was defective with shifted hole. Will change that and go forward.

But another question did arise - what torque must be for spindle bearing preload nut ?

Still problem is there . After changing the collet, playing reduced to somewhat 20 microns at base of milling bit .
