I have a series 2 with a dead heidenhiem controller. I'm retrofiting it with mach2 and different servo drivers .

Does anyone know how to interface to the glass scales on it so i can get standard A-B quadrature output ?

I have most of the Heidenhain manuals that show pin outs and wire colours, what model of scales are they?.

I didnt think the series II had glass scales. Doesnt it just use the motor encoder for position feedback ?
