I can't seem to find any info on what the F10 or F20 represent, when I e-mailed support asking about feeds they send back a reply "you will have to figure them out for yourself" ???
Would someone please tell me where to look!

This data is setting the Feed Rate of your machine and depends on your whether your controller is setup in Imperial or Metric.
Inches: F10 = Feed Rate is 10 inches per minute
Millimeters: F10 = Feed Rate is 10 millimeters per minute.

When a Company such as BobCad will call and hound it's customers to "Buy their latest Up-Grade" or ask you to pay premium dollar for support contracts. It's a sad day in the industry when they push you aside for such a simple question. It's no wonder why they are loosing ground in the Cad-Cam world. They forget, the user on the phone may have a small question, but their response will weigh heavy on his mind the next time he is asked "What CADCAM software do you recommend ?" Companys should remember, Rome may not have been built in a day, but it was destroyed in moments by a few simple words. "you will have to figure them out for yourself"

It's a no brainer to see that BCC isn't worried where their next meal is comming from.
It's comming from the poor sap that caves into their Tele-Phone Marketing sharks.

Well said!!!! I guess that is why I decided to purchase a copy of VisualMill instead of BobCAD/CAM. In my humble opinion BobCAD/CAM will never be able to measure up to other companies anyway. Just look at the Feed-rate, I would have never guessed that F stands for feed-rate. Why would I want to put an F in front of my feed-rate every time. If you ask me that is stupid from the get go. But, each to their own.

First of all, the responce you received from support was a request for you to learn what you needed to know from your machine manual in terms of the Feed requirements. It is a common fact that the letter "F" represents "Feed" in a CAM system. I guess that you expected an appology from our support team regarding the fact that you didn't know this. To me, personally, that is a little strange. Even though you have gotten off on the wrong foot here, we are still willing to technically support the software and provide you will training opportunities that would certainly help you at this point. Just give us a call.

This ia a Common Mistake in the Machining world. It can apply in two ways:

1) Your asking for the correct Feeds and Speeds for a Material on a Machine.

2) Your asking what the "F" Designation in a G-Code Program means.

Your question was a common misunderstanding. Stop and think about it in a few months when your actually using the software to make parts.

No reason to get bent out of shape, just try to understand that people when asked a question form an idea about what your asking. The rep at BCC should have tried to pinpoint what you were really asking, but at the same time you didn't even consider that he misread what you were asking.

Assumption is never any good thing now is it! It is common practice !! Funny that I did not know this! Maybe I should quit running the Machine at work and the one I got at home since I’m to stupid to know what the F is?? Just to let you know, in the other softwares you don't put an F in front of the feed-rate only yours.
You had your chance, keep your incompetent software and burn it. VisualMill is 10 times better and faster.

Fair enough. My technical people should have spent more time with you. I don't know the exact circumstances but I can say that we do our best to assist the customers that we have and the base grows daily. If, in the future, you have a question we will do our very best to assist you toward what it is that you need help in. And I'm sure you have more important things to do than this. I know I do.

But I just wanted to let you know that what you think was the original question was not the original question, someone is hiding something or deleted the original question. I was very interested in your Software because of the price difference, it is clear to me that I can not expect to buy a Cadillac for the price of a chevy and the direct bashing of your Software was wrong on my part. I do apologize for that. Maybe sometime in the future when you offer a more user friendly(fast) program I will give it another shot.
And please remember that you get people from all walks of life, don’t assume anything and pay close attention to what is asked. I guess that I also should have paid more attention and I should have realized that you thought I was asking about what feeds to use rather than what the F was for.
