Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to find a supplier for 3 different components. I've attached some pics. I have prints for the people that are interested in discussing further.

Parts are all made out of 8620 steel and relatively small. The trunnion is roughly 1.375" in length and .75" dia. The ring is .25" wide and about .550" in dia. The socket is about .5" in dia jand ust over .25" in length. The parts all need to be carburized, and may need a grind operation on some features depending on the finish and tolerances you could hold.

Annual volume is between 8-10K each. I would be ordering in lots of 500-1000 at a time (up for discussion). I'll be needing 35 prototypes of each prior to first order.

Preferred timing for parts - 35 prototypes of each component (4-6 weeks), production volume after prototypes are validated, (12-14 weeks)

One of the two parts appears to be a pushrod socket for a roller rocker arm and the other the ball socket for the pushrod for a similar device.

Although carb'd 8620 should be adequate for a "street/hp" rocker pivot shaft, you might want to consider tool steel for true, hard core racing. Not much of a $$$ premium but oh so much better parts!!!!

Why tool steel? We're seeing cases (Craftsman truck/Bush) racing where 8620 had demonstrated marginal durability.

On the other hand, not only are the tool steel parts more robust, they are much nicer to machine and we have less problems with size change/warpage in heat treat.

The pushrod socket is very lubrication sensitive - they are also very load and finish sensitive. You might want to consider either H13 or O6 tool for these instead of 8620. Besides better wear characteristics, the O6 machines MUCH nicer and finishes MUCH nicer and EASIER than 8620.

Unless you use aircraft quality/bearing quality certified 8620 for the trunion at least, you can end up with some real lame, inconsistant imported crap to work with (voids, inclusions, seams, you name it).
