I'll be making some molds for a new bench top injection molder in the coming weeks. Let me know if your interested in having some molds made by a professional mold making firm. You can find the machines at http://www.injectionmolder.net

$1500 is a bit to steep in price.

The price may be steep if you only want to make one or two hobby parts, but dirt cheap compared to having an injection mold shop doing it for you. And most shops generally don't want to bother with small personal jobs.

Do you have any experience with those? I'd love to hear how well they work.

I called one of the "hand-crank" injector manufacturers, and he says he hasn't yet tested his machine with ABS.
I'm sending him some triple-five ABS samples for him to try, and I'll report back with the results.

'egay' as you put it is one of the best things since whole-loaf homemade rye bread.
Good luck making a decent mold if you are combative on a web forum, and apparently dont even have a mill.. Checkout www.protomold.com to see what i mean... I dare you to make molds to create parts like that with your 'emco'
Alot of people think they can do things untill they give it a shot.. Then it becomes 'i coulda done it, if...'
I know this, I am on both sides of that one.

foot in mouth mode 'ON'.
I see. emco makes similar benchtop machines. I was trying to picture a guy with a $500 ebay ENCO milling machine trying to cut a decent IJ mold in aluminum!
Carry on without my useless 'injections'

I wanted to ask some of the experts here a few questions...
I want to manufacture some custom headphone audio cords with overmolded standard mini-jack ends..basically Im looking for something I can feed wire into and press down to overmold plastic over it. There is also a "Y" (that goes around your head...like a headphone cord).
overmolding is a must for the units Im trying to make.
Will these small bench top machines work for this purpose?
Who has the lowest priced bechtop injection mold machines?
Thanks
Andre
