I have a need to use Delrin(or similar) as bearings on drill rod or some kind of rod. I am looking for the cheapest rod I can find that is compatible with Delrin. As an example, I would guess that black gas pipe would NOT be compatible with using Delrin due to the non-slick nature of the pipe. Either solid or hollow would work, however hollow would be better. So can someone tell me what options ARE compatible with Delrin type bearings? Thanks.

If you live near any oil-fields, try to get some used Polished Rod or Polished Rod Liners. This is the top rod in a sucker rod pumping system, often heavy chrome or spray metal finish. Available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" or 1-3/4" dia. if you can find it. The liners would be better, they are hollow. Sometimes one will be damaged and thrown away but you can still get several feet of good material from it.
Great idea. I did some work at a place that makes those. Lots of centerless grinders working away in there. Should be great material for rails.
