First of all, i really like cnc stuff. (Designing my own machine right now) And i think i like them for the right reasons. Cnc is very interesting (stuff you can make), 'cheap' working force, maybe one day a way to make your own living, ...
But sometime's i wonder what i actually could buy with all the money i spend on my mill
Man how do you keep your blody focus
If you look at some nice motorcycle's or other stuff it make's you dream away...

Man how do you keep your blody focus
The short answer is, "I DON'T!"
The longer answer is I need to have more than one iron in the fire. Keeps the juices flowing, you know? So I try to limit myself to 6 projects. If I find a 7th I want to start, I force myself to finish up one of the 6. Between 6 things, there is always something I can make some progress on down in the shop.
I also write down the "daydreams" in my web site (www.cnccookbook.com), so that when I get to the point of starting a project, it often has a lot of good notes and ideas already there to kick start things going.
There are a lot of guys on these boards who have amazing focus and productivity. Many they do a machine in no time flat. Awe inspiring to watch. Wish I could do it. I tell myself I can't because I have a day job.
Who am I kidding?!?? (chair)
