Me and a buddy from work are planning to each build a jgro table. The plans he provides are absolutly amazing. Thank you jgro! Thanks to all of you plans providers. I've learned so much from reading this forum. So many good choices, so space in my garage.

Anyway, here are the questions.
1. Axis labels. Is there a standard for CNC routers. I have seen at least two references where the long axis of the table is "Y" and short axis is "X". I would have reversed it.

2. Gas Pipe: I visited my local H.D. and Lowes. Both have black pipe in 1/2 and 1" sizes. Its painted black. Is this the same item as Gas Pipe?

On my DIY project I am using the black pipe from Home Depot. Not saying it is right but it is what I am using. Can't wait till I am finished.

1) I've heard the long axis should always be X, but others disagree. You can make them whatever you want, though.

2) The black pipe is gas pipe.
