Hello all,
I am new to featureCAm, i would like to ask if someone can help me out. Sorry I dont have a a drawing here so I will try to describe how it looks like.
I have circle 3.0 dia, mill .5 deep. I also have a .75 X .5 rectangle pocket (R fillet is .125) and cut .125 deep inside that big circle, I have 2 pins (.2 dia each ) stick up .125 inside the rec pocket, please show me how to cut the rec pocket with 2 pins stick up like that, I try many ways but cant figure out. Thanks in advance.

If you look at the other posts in this section you will see that I am fond of FeatureCam. The last time I did some comparisons to other Cam software I found FC a good deal, easy to use and it would do all I needed. Others have had different results based on their needs and type of work.

Define the stock, then draw geometry, a circle for the 3” boss, the rectangle with filleted corners, 2 circles for the pins. Create closed curves from each of these items. For the 3” diameter select Boss, follow the window. For the rectangle select Side, and then select the curves for the rectangle and both pins, all in one feature. You will have to choose which side of each curve you want to cut. You may also have to adjust the tools to allow for clearance. If the rectangle requires a fillet at the bottom you will have more tool issues and a lot longer program because of the tight area. I can do this far easier than I can describe it.
