Has ordered the day after Grizz posted it on their Website. Hoping it will
come in some time in mid-Feb :D .

Anyway, a friend of mine has a shop crane and I was planning on using it to
lift the mill onto it's workbench. In few pics I saw, people use strap around
the head. That just doesn't seem right to me :nono: - how can locked head handle
the weight (300lb) of the rest of the mill ?

2nd question: does anybody have pics or can describe how to remove head
from Super X3. Slightly different from X3 (it is simplicity itself with X3) . I will
do a full WF40 bathing for my baby when it comes :)

Another question, with low gear gone, how the torque on Super X3 ? I most certainly am in favor of direct belt drive and don't really have much need
for hoggin vast amts of metal, but still, inquiring minds want to know

And last one: I absolutely don't like the Up/Down buttons for speed control.
I reckon it is should be possible to bypass that with a POT directly to motor
controller ? Most of the time I drill/mill/bore by ear :) , adjusting speed to my and tools' liking and a POT is the fastest way to do that .

I have seen people disassemble the machines, clean the parts, and reassemble them on their benches. It would seem: the lighter things you are moving, the safer it would be. If two parts aren't attached, they can't fall apart.

It's a shame that the Super X3 manual isn't on Grizzly's site. Perhaps http://www.superx3.com/ has some knowledge about what can or shouldn't be taken separated for cleaning and moving without excessive bother or loss of accuracy.

Regardless of the method, the sound of broken cast-iron a concrete floor would be quiet against the sound that someone would make after seeing cast-iron fall though their foot.

Please be careful. ; )

If you are concerned (which I believe you have legitimate reason to be), take apart the mill while right on the floor. Then reassemble on the bench, that is what I did for my X3. Now you can clean the parts as you take them apart and grease before assembly.
