Hello folks

I been lurking on this site for along time as it offers a weath of info. Was wondering if anyone has built or has any ideas as to printing fine scale numbers, letters or logos directly on to objects. I am into N scale train modeling and would like to print really small numbers etc onto the car itself. Often times these letters and numbers are white and about .25mm and even smaller in height and stll legiable. I guess I am a fanatic for detail. The Alps printer does have white capability but the transfer is a decal. What I was hoping to do was apply the wax/resin printer tape to the model and then with a cnc laser type machine print via thermal transfer the numbers etc to the car.

Any information would be extremely helpful. At this time I am a real newbie when it comes to anything cnc but thinking on the lines of modify a plotter or a printer itself to do this.

I think I know a way of doing this...How into it do you really want to get though, are the models oxidized, painted, or prepared for paint? How permanent would you like? I work at an engraving shop in California, and have seen methods ranging from etch to print on the same surface limitations.
