After having bought a DM45 from PennTool, I had to disassemble it to get it to my basement. In the interim, I made a diagram for re-connecting the motor to the switch. Also in the "same" interim, (only have 1 interim left for later, sorry), water got spilled on the diagram and while I can make out most of it, I can't see where one of the wires connects....the red one. Does anyone know where I can get a schematic for this machine or help in wiring the motor to the switch? In the interim, (last interim), I've called Penntool and it seems like they are dragging their feet to get me this info.

I don't have a machine to look at for referance. If you can post a picture of the switch and the wires that are on it, we might be able to figure it out anyway.

I think that is what they are doing with the switch you have.
It looks like they are using jumpers to reproduce the connections that are made in a purpose built forward-off-reverse drum switch.
We (I) can't see from the pictures where all the jumpers and connections are made.
Perhaps you could make a list of what terminals are jumpered to each other and where the motor wires that you know are correct are connected. Colors won't help much, please list U2 to terminal #2 etc. and which 2 terminals the line in go to.

The top I can see are numbered like:
9 5 1
10 6 2

Looking up from the bottom they are numbered like??:
12 8 4
11 9 3 (this side directly below the 10 6 2)

It should'nt be too hard to figure out where the remaining red wire goes.

As for PennTool helping....... Let's just say that they aren't too enthused about getting the info that I need, tho, in their behalf, they did privide me with the phone number of the manufacturer.......IN CHINA! Yeah, like I'm gonna call China! If this is how PennTool's Customer Service works, this will be the last time I buy from them!!

It looks like a "Rong Fu 45" clone... Try in the Industrial Hobbies forum here on CNCZone.... I think it's the same machine. Also, try to see if you can get a copy of the instructions from Grizzly for this mill....

I tried those places early on, but, the only problem with that theory is that they are without a doubt the same machine but with different labels, plus the switches are all different. Grizzly & Lathemaster don't use rotary switches like PennTool's version does or I could have gotten the schematic from Grizzly.

OK no guarantees.
I made a drawing of how I think your switch works.
Confirm that I have the jumpers going to the correct terminals.
I think the remaining motor lead should connect to 9 or 12.
You should disconnect the line and motor wires and use a meter to check that the switch operates the way I have it drawn before you use my diagram.
