Hi guys - I am looking for a UK supplier for aluminium tooling plate (I think it's called MIC plate) - does anyone know of anywhere I can get some, and how much it's likely to cost me?
Cheers.

View Full Version : Does anyone know of a UK source for Al tooling plate? digits 12-19-2006, 05:20 PM Hi guys - I am looking for a UK supplier for aluminium tooling plate (I think it's called MIC plate) - does anyone know of anywhere I can get some, and how much it's likely to cost me? My local yard had some very big 1" offcuts, until I arrived:-) Otherwise look in the Yellow Pages under non-ferrous metal merchants. digits 04-13-2007, 04:51 AM Hi thanks for the reply - I didn't think anyone would ever bother! I did actually find a source for tooling plate: Metalfast : http://www.metalfast.co.uk/ and I ordered a shed load of C250 cast and machined tooling plate for the construction of my new CNC mill/lathe. It's a bit more expensive than plain 6082, but for me, not having to surface it makes it worthwhile. I can't recommend them highly enough - they were very quick to quote me for my rather long shopping list, and had everything delivered on time and in the sub 25kg bundles I requested. |
