View Full Version : programmable coolant pit202 12-13-2006, 10:06 AM hello, anybody haas pictures whats inside a programmable coolant device ? or any photos of it ? Piter miljnor 12-13-2006, 10:44 AM 2 limit switches and a geared reduction motor. 1 limit switch shows when the spout is at position 1. and the other rides on a cam that has teeth like a sprocket and this is what the other limit switch rides on. pit202 12-13-2006, 12:48 PM looks easy, i`m curious if it is possible to make and connect this to tm-1 :) pit202 12-13-2006, 01:51 PM does the programmable coolant has its own electronics or it is directly connected to haas IO board ? miljnor 12-13-2006, 02:09 PM Actually I haven't had time to go further with mine but I have an older '94 machine and all of the connections are on the pcb board in the back of the machine And all of the internal parts are available at grainger. I was planning on updating to PC. It should be doable, if you look at the control board and see if the thing has labeled connectors for Pcool you should be able to do it easily. If there are no connectors you can still probably rig a controller board of your own for a stepper motor and limit switches. And use the extra port for macros to control it. pit202 12-14-2006, 01:40 AM under the P35 is writen "spigot" is it this ? and above are two relays visible K17 and K18 for PCOL. http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/989/clipboard01xp3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) miljnor 12-14-2006, 09:18 AM those are the ones on my board as well. WARNING!!! This is uncharted territory and that board isn't cheap if you mess things up. just thought I should say that, so you go in with eyes wide open. I haven't done this mod yet and your a guinea pigging this if you decide to do it. pit202 12-14-2006, 12:48 PM I wont do till I know exacly how :( somebody help ? POLAR82 12-21-2006, 09:51 AM I have a service bulletin from Hass that has a diagram of the inner workings of the pcool unit if your intrested please find it attached |
