Not sure it this is too off topic...
But if you want to try out madCAM and have a competitive CAM program. You qualify for madCAM's no charge competitive upgrade to madCAM 2.0 and keep your old CAM program.
Details at http://www.ob.com/catalog/no-charge-madcam-competitive-upgrade-p-200.html

Robert I don't think anyone would think this is off topic. Looks like Joakim is serious about getting Madcam out in the market. He is the greatest for support and I also want to thank you for your excellent video tuts both for Rhino and Madcam.

Thanks for the kind words.
I was not sure if it was against the rules at cnczone.

Robert I just got back from the shop after setting the machine up to run another Madcam file!:D

Are you going to post this on the Rhino user's group? I looked right after I posted the previous post and did not see it???

NOW you tell me

I purchased madCAM a short while ago after becoming more and more frustrated with RhinoCam basic. I still have the RhinoCam seat - I was proposing to sell it until I found out they charged $300 to transfer the licence

Anyway, what an amazing offer. Joakims support is second to none and madCAM is a joy to use.

To Qualify
Email or FAX us a photocopy of your CNC program CD or invoice for any qualifying competitve CNC product. If your product is a commercial/student/school version of a CNC toolpath generating software, you will likely qualify. Limited to one per customer.

Pretty much any CAM package that you had to pay for. Free downloads would not qualify.

Yes you need to have Rhino 3.0 to run madCAM 2

How about a reduced price for those that only have downloaded competitive products? I would rather pay for the software to the author/vendor as opposed to purchasing the cheapest competing product I can find in order to upgrade with zero dollars going to the Madcam folks.

I bought a Tormach Mill a couple of months back and have been working with downloads and demo's of a couple of packages. So far I have looked at Freemill and RhinoCam. Freemill is, understandably, very limited. RhinoCam seems kind of unstable with a fair amount of lockups which I never get running Rhino alone. Also Mecsoft does not actually let you post with the demo's which, since you can't cut metal means it is hard to buy with confidence.

A limited time competitive upgrade from Freemill or other dl'd Cam package for $299 would be a good thing.

Regards,

Jeff

Save your money.
If you like madCAM, buy the madCAM 4 upgrade. We have changed the upgrade program to include CNC controller and CNC machine tool manuals.
To upgrade, goto http://www.madcamcnc.com/competitive_upgrade.html page and contact a local dealer in your country.
