I've never been around bobcad-cam at all, I've always worked for bigger outfits that used gibbs, and was wondering how the fadal format 2 posts were?? I'm in the process of buying my own machine and like what I see out of bobcad-cam.
Thanks,
Mark

First thing First.
What type of parts do you plan to make. 2D, 2 1/2D, 3D, 4Axis, 5Axis?
BCC will make short work of 2 1/2 Axis parts and some no so complex 3D parts.
Second, what is in you budget for a CAD/CAM Package?
I do not recomend BCC for 4 Axis Parts, it is a bit combersome.
Do you have BCC V21 or are you still shopping?
I have been using BCC since V17 through V21.
BCC has a Support Website Here

And Sorin the BCC Official Trainer has his own Site Here

I'm getting a fadal 4020 ht with a vh-65 4th. Mostly 2 1/2d work but some complex 3d and 4th work.
I haven't bought anything yet and thought I check into all of my options first. I've always used Gibbs, Mastercam, and Smartcam, but have seen a little of bobcad in use and like it's post processor capabilities!!! Do they make a post for the fadal fromat 2?
Thanks, mark

I have written many programs for a fadel format 2 for complex 3d shapes. The real issue is the look ahead in the fadel most of the time I would shut it of as it would leave a tool mark at the end of each line segment.
