KANNON 11-29-2006, 01:19 PM I dont think we have that many tools here to load something like that up!:) samco 11-29-2006, 01:24 PM we have 60 - does that count? :) http://www.electronicsam.com/images/KandT/DSCCurrent.JPG http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25929 sam Geof 11-29-2006, 03:05 PM 200 tools is an impressive number but the size is also impressive, according to the description; " The cutters are up to 700 millimeters long, and weigh up to 25 kilograms. Their maximum diameter is 400 millimeters. A tool 27" long, 15-3/4" dia. weighing 55lbs is a largish tool. miljnor 11-29-2006, 03:11 PM That would be a sweet setup! too bad its so far out of a job shops budget its not even funny! :( mark c 11-29-2006, 08:24 PM The place I worked at til a few months ago had 4 Hitachi Seiki horizontals that each had a 240 tool magazine. Those babies cost a lot to tool up when we got them! psychomill 11-30-2006, 09:34 AM 200 tools is smaller than our changers so it doesn't do much for me. But the capacities are interesting. 700mm (27.56") tool length is no big deal... but the Ø400mm (Ø15.75") is pretty impressive. But, I question the validity of that. To be able to rotate a 400mm full diameter tool (which is what the article leads you to believe) and only be able to carry 25kg (55 lbs) is a problem. Don't see that happening. Ous can carry 30kg (66 lbs). I think the guy who wrote this confused it with a single side tool type (swing diameter). In otherwords like a trepan, flycutter and such. Many machine tool magazines can compete with this thing no problem. I think the intent is more for retrofit/conversion type apps. Wonder what this baby costs and the logistics involved? |
